This time, we invited an Alagille syndrome patient and his family to Osaka Meisei Gakuen high school as part of our study tour for RDD2023.
At the internal meeting with the high school students held last month, we received a request from them that they would like to talk with people of the same generation. We, therefore, invited Mr. Koji Yoshida of the Japan Alagille Syndrome Patient Association and his son, Manato, to speak at the event, which consisted of two parts: in the first half, Koji gave a presentation, and in the second half, students were divided into two groups to exchange opinions with the two speakers.
The study tour was a success, with many positive outcomes, including frank exchanges between the high school students and their awareness of the feelings and thoughts of their families.
Guest speakers; Mr. Koji Yoshida and Mr. Manato Yoshida (Alagille syndrome patient group)
