The Japan Patients Open Meeting (JPoM) will be held on Sunday, August 31. The meeting is organized with the Japan Cancer Coalition and the Japan Patients Association for Intractable/Rare Diseases serving as the initiating organizations, and with ASrid (NPO) and PPeCC (General Incorporated Association) serving as the secretariat organizations.

Ahead of the event, a press conference announcing the launch was held at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
